Our skilled and passionate dance group is ready to elevate the atmosphere at your public or private event. Our History
Studio Colombia, founded in 2012 by Yamilet Tascon, embodies the vibrant spirit of Colombian dance in the heart of Denver, Colorado. Driven by a profound love for dance and a desire to share her rich cultural heritage, Yamilet established the dance group with a vision to inspire, educate, and unite communities through the art of dance. Since its inception, Studio Colombia has flourished into a dynamic hub for both seasoned dancers and newcomers alike, fostering creativity, inclusivity, and a deep appreciation for Colombian traditions. With each graceful step, Studio Colombia continues to weave a tapestry of cultural celebration and artistic expression, leaving an indelible mark on the Denver dance scene.
Performance Team FAQ
How do I join the Performance Team?
To join the performance team, you must submit an interest form, audition and obtain approval from the LACI: Studio Colombia Executive Team.
What do I need for Dance Practice?
Dance Practice
1) Dancers must wear LACI: Studio Colombia practice uniform.
2) Appropriate dance shoes.
3) Rehearsal skirt (ladies).
Rehearsal skirt is available to rent or purchase.
a. Rent: $75/year
b. Purchase: $150
Are Dance Costumes Provided?
Studio Colombia owns all Dance Costumes and will distribute and collect all costumes before and after shows.
a. Dance costumes will be labeled and assigned to a dancer.
b. Dancer is responsible for their assigned costume and will cover the costs of any damage.
c. All dance costumes and accessories must be returned to Studio Colombia in good condition and visibly clean.
All dancers must pay a dance costume cleaning and maintenance fee.
a. $100/year
b. LACI: Studio Colombia will determine the cleaning of costumes as needed.
What happens if I miss practice?
Dancers who can’t attend class must submit an absence form with at least 24 hour’s notice (unless it is a last-minute emergency).
a) Dancers who don’t attend for more than three consecutive weeks without communication will no longer be part of the performance team.
b) To rejoin the team, you must keep attending dance classes and obtain permission from the LACI: Studio Colombia Executive Team.
